Oil hits tourist beaches

<b>IBIZA TOWN</b> A worker cleans up oil at Talamanca beach after a merchant ship sank off the coast of Ibiza. About 150 tonnes of fuel are leaking from the Don Pedro, which sank on Wednesday, forcing authorities to close several beaches, including Talamanca. Local television showed patches of oil on Ibiza’s southernmost beaches, but officials said that at present only about 500 yards of the island’s 11 miles of sandy beachfront had been affected.
