Pro-democracy activists held

RANGOON The Burmese junta has detained more than 20 activists, including Myo Nyunt, a close aide of Aung San Suu Kyi, the pro-democracy leader, before the country’s referendum on a new constitution on May 10.

Myo Nyunt was arrested at home while other activists were arrested as they rallied peacefully against the proposed constitution in the northwestern city of Sittwe. (AP)
